As director of professional development and attorney recruiting, Mr. Neary is responsible for expanding the firm’s educational and mentoring programs by focusing on professional development for all attorneys and attorney recruiting.
He is responsible for all attorney training programs, including CLE classes, orientation programming, the firm’s mid-level retreat and leadership program.

He works closely with the firm's Associates Committee on the evaluation, partnership and compensation processes. He was instrumental in the creation of the firm’s associate mentoring program. He also assists associates and partners with HR and policy questions, and he regularly counsels management on associate-related issues.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods in 2003, Mr. Neary spent 18 years with Akin Gump in Washington, D.C., where he served in a number of roles in the attorney development and recruiting areas.
