Simon is a corporate lawyer based in London. He advises on UK and international M&A, securities, private equity, privatization and joint venture projects, across a wide range of sectors (including energy & utilities, financial institutions, automotive, real estate, brewing & distilling, shipping, hotels and natural resources). In his 25 year legal career, Mr. Cox has worked on transactions in the UK, Central and Eastern Europe (principally in Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Russia), as well as in Turkey, where he headed Norton Rose's Turkey Desk, and in the Far East.

Representation of Al-Tuwairqi Group of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when they re-acquired the assets and business of Thamesteel Limited (a steel producing Mini Mill) from the Administrators of the Company.

Advice on a number of major privatisations in the UK and overseas including advising on the privatisation of the Bucharest Electricity Distribution Company in Romania, the entire Bulgarian Electricity Distribution sector and a state owned bank in Turkey.

Advice on a large number of major joint ventures and company acquisitions and disposals including advising BMW AG on the restructuring of Rover Group Limited and subsequent sale of Rover Group limited to the Phoenix Group and Land Rover Group Limited to Ford Motor Company; advising BMW AG in relation to its bid for Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Limited; advising Cirquent (formerly Softlab), an IT/technology subsidiary of BMW AG, on various transactions.
