Steven concentrates on structuring cross-border asset based lending transactions and work-out strategies. His client base includes all major players in the European ABL market ranging from UK clearing banks, various clearing banks in other EU member states and subsidiaries of U.S. banks, to other regulated and unregulated financial institutions. Steven is a regular speaker at international and U.K. industry conferences. He also provides training at industry associations and in-house for his clients. Steven is recognized as being one of the leading advisers in the European market. He is noted in Chambers 2012.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Steven served as head of asset based lending at an international law firm in London. He has also held the positions of director of legal affairs at GE Commercial Distribution Finance Europe (formerly Deutsche Financial Services) in Düsseldorf, Germany, senior legal counsel and compliance officer of Cedel International/Cedelbank in London and legal counsel to Netherlands Bankers Association (NVB) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
