Ms. Worley focuses her practice on labor and employment, general commercial and financial services litigation. She partners with employers to help them safely navigate the waters of modern state and federal employment law and regulation, including but not limited to, matters involving protection of trade secrets and proprietary information, non-competition agreements, hiring, firing, discipline, discrimination, wage and hour, workplace safety and regulation, harassment, workplace privacy and e-technology issues, reductions-in-force, defamation, retaliation, whistleblowers, family and medical leave, disability, and reasonable accommodations. She has handled employment discrimination, wage and hour, ERISA, civil rights, securities, and personal injury litigation. She has tried cases in state and federal court, and has represented clients in binding arbitrations, state administrative hearings, and before state and federal courts of appeals.
Ms. Worley's practice also includes reviewing and drafting employment policies and counseling clients on day-to-day regulatory and compliance issues related to employment law. She also conducts training on state and federal employment law for client management, legal and human resource teams. She is a frequent lecturer at continuing legal education and human resources classes.
- Select Labor & Employment Experience
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings at the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings and Appeals, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, the North Carolina Department of Labor, and the North Carolina Employment Security Commission.
- Train client management on compliance with federal and state employment laws.
- Review and draft client employment policy manuals and handbooks.
- Negotiate and draft employment and severance agreements.
- Secure and defend against temporary restraining orders to enforce non-competition agreements.
- Bring and defend trade secret actions.
- Coordinate and provide client education regarding employment-related e-discovery issues.
- Defend clients against abusive unemployment filings.
- Conduct employee fraud investigations, and draft confidential internal audit committee reports.
- Assist with WARN compliance.
- Conduct and supervise employment-related due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Provide employment law litigation risk analysis.
- Follow federal and state legislative trends, and identify potential issues for clients.

- Represented client in multinational securities fraud litigation with several hundred million dollars in dispute.
- Conducted countless depositions, including those of financial industry and damages experts.
- Supervised litigation involving international and domestic product liability and product supply chain break down matters.
