Mr. Samson represents banks and national commercial lenders on sophisticated syndicated and non-syndicated asset-based and other commercial loans made to businesses across a broad spectrum of industries, and on related workouts and bankruptcy matters. While highly experienced in all phases of commercial lending, he has unique skills on loans to healthcare providers, oil and gas producers and refiners, and to agricultural-related businesses including farming, wineries and canning facilities.

In more than 30 years of practice, he has handled hundreds of loan transactions, mostly in the $15 million to $500 million range. He has handled several hundred out-of-court workouts and Chapter 11 cases. Mr. Samson has held leadership positions in a number of professional associations including serving as president and treasurer of the Financial Lawyers Conference of California, and chair of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Los Angeles County Bar. He frequently lectures to business and professional groups including teaching the multiday courses on workouts and bankruptcy, and on asset-based lending to the Commercial Finance Association and commercial law update courses to the Commercial Finance Conference of California.
