Mr. Vick heads the firm's White Collar Practice Section. Since joining McGuireWoods LLP, Mr. Vick's practice has focused primarily on providing advice and support to corporations in the area of white collar crime criminal defense and internal corporate investigations. He provides ongoing advice to several major corporations regarding corporate compliance programs. He has conducted multiple internal investigations for the firm's large corporate clients and has been involved in the drafting of compliance programs for major corporate clients.
Mr. Vick has recently handled cases that involved the defense of investigations in the areas of export violations, healthcare fraud, SEC violations, antitrust, false claims, bribery, and environmental crimes including the defense of AOL in a Department of Justice investigation. He also led the defense team in the recent prosecution of ITT by the Department of Justice for export violations. His recent trial work includes obtaining a civil wrongful death verdict in a case that had been ruled a suicide by the State of Virginia; an acquittal of the lead defendant in a bribery case brought in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia; and an acquittal of the lead defendant in a Lacey Act prosecution in the U.S. District Court in Houston, Texas.
