Mr. Boland focuses his practice on complex commercial cases regarding the lender/borrower relationship (including foreclosures, workouts, bankruptcies, class actions and consumer financial services), shareholder matters (including special litigation committees, derivative suits and securities claims), and professional services disputes (legal and accounting). In addition, he has extensive experience in intellectual property, False Claims Act litigation, and electronic discovery.

Most recently, his cases have involved foreclosure related class actions, Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission and State Attorneys General investigations, healthcare related litigation, and qui tam actions.

Mr. Boland has served as chair of the commercial litigation section of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, and as a board member and chair of the Board of Editors of the Journal of Civil Litigation. He was a member of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society Board, and served as board president, and is past president and a founder of Christmas in April - Richmond.
