Mr. Boland focuses his practice on complex commercial cases regarding the lender/borrower relationship (including lender liability, workouts, bankruptcies, class actions and consumer financial services), shareholder matters (including representation of special litigation committees, derivative suits and securities claims), and professional services disputes (legal and accounting). In addition, he has extensive experience in intellectual property and False Claims Act litigation.
Most recently, his cases have involved Department of Justice, and Securities and Exchange Commission investigations, environmental law, claims under the Telecommunications Act, and qui tam actions.
Mr. Boland has served as chair of the commercial litigation section of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, and as a board member and chair of the Board of Editors of the Journal of Civil Litigation. He was a member of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society Board, and served as board president, and is past president and a founder of Christmas in April - Richmond.
