Ms. Peyton chairs the firm's transactional Intellectual Property Practice. Her practice includes corporate work in the areas of trademark and copyright protection and licensing, transfers of IP in corporate transactions, negotiation and drafting of transition services agreements to support IT and other functions in the posttransaction transition period, and privacy compliance.

Ms. Peyton has substantial experience assisting clients with the strategic management of large U.S. and foreign trademark portfolios for retail, manufacturing and professional services companies, as well as institutions of higher education. She was recently recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America for Trademark Law and is a past chair of the Virginia State Bar Intellectual Property Section.

In addition to trademark portfolio work, Ms. Peyton assists clients with software licensing, particularly sophisticated IT procurement contracts for corporate licensees and buyers. She also has experience as a website audit team leader, auditing and evaluating clients' websites for intellectual property protection and liability issues and drafting appropriate privacy policies and legal terms and conditions for web pages. Her website audit clients include public and private corporations, institutions of higher learning and other nonprofit organizations.
