Mr. Maude is an experienced and well-respected practitioner working in labor and employment law in London. He regularly advises across the full spectrum of employment law related issues in the contentious and non contentious spheres with a particular emphasis on advising corporate clients on complex strategic human resource related matters.

His practice can be broadly broken down into the two areas of the domestic U.K. market and the international market.

His U.K. work involves advising on most aspects of U.K. employment law being contractual, statutory and regulatory in nature. Mr. Maude has a particular emphasis on confidentiality/restraint matters, business reorganisations and transfer issues together with complex terminations of employment. On the contentious side, he has also run cases in most fora in the U.K. judicial system including the Employment Tribunal, High Court and Court of Appeal.

His international work includes advising corporate clients on the U.K. regulatory regime and the effects this can have upon strategic decisions concerning investment into the U.K. and Europe. There is a particular emphasis on the set up and continued management of subsidiary undertakings for parent companies based outside of the U.K., together with the coordination of employment work across jurisdictions for global corporate clients.

Mr. Maude also regularly advises on data protection and privacy matters faced by corporate clients within the U.K. and the EU in the employment law context and on a broader commercial level. Advice has concentrated on the legal principles concerning the collection, storage and transfer of personal data through the U.K., EU and to the United States.

He is a regular commentator in the press on employment law, gives seminars, and has appeared on national television because of his knowledge of the subject area.
