Mr. Sipprelle's practice is concentrated in the areas of employment litigation, and high exposure products liability and personal injury litigation.

Employment Litigation

Mr. Sipprelle serves as counsel for employers in all types of employment litigation matters in state and federal courts, including lawsuits involving alleged wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination and retaliation, as well as class action wage and hour disputes.

Products Liability and Other Personal Injury Litigation

Mr. Sipprelle has represented major automobile manufacturers in the defense of products liability claims involving catastrophic injuries. He also manages local counsel and serves as national lead litigator in products liability matters for an international consumer products designer and distributor. In addition, he has handled numerous personal injury cases outside the products liability context, including through trial.

Trial Work

Mr. Sipprelle has served as lead counsel in numerous jury trials, bench trials and binding arbitrations in the areas of employment discrimination, retaliation, personal injury and wrongful death, real property disputes, and lender liability. Within the past several years, he has obtained defense verdicts for firm clients in a wrongful termination and sexual orientation discrimination action (three-week jury trial in the Orange County Superior Court), and in a wrongful death action (three-week jury trial in the San Diego County Superior Court).

More recently, Mr. Sipprelle defended a client against a race and religious discrimination lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Following a two-week jury trial, the jury returned a 12-0 defense verdict in favor of the firm's client, Public Storage.

Early in his career, Mr. Sipprelle tried a number of criminal cases to jury verdicts on behalf of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office.

Noteworthy Cases

In 2002, Mr. Sipprelle obtained a $45 million wrongful death judgment in favor of client Dr. Xavier Caro and against Dr. Caro’s ex-wife, Socorro Caro. The wrongful death case arose out of Socorro Caro’s highly publicized murder of three of the couple’s four children in November 1999. The $45 million judgment was reported to be the largest in the history of Ventura County up to that time.
