Mr. Maier now uses his multifunctional background as an electrical engineer, business manager and U.S. Army officer to promptly close technology, outsourcing, intellectual property and corporate transactions. With his knowledge of the core business of IT companies, he delivers practical legal advice on business and technical issues, and helps his clients realize their intended effects, obtain maximum value and quantify risk. He started the mid-market government group to provide full legal services to contractors of classified services and products. His clients include buyers and providers of technology services and products. His practice focuses on:

  • Cutting-edge information technology services such as wireless broadband services, financial criminal and terrorist identification systems, real time airline flight data for one of the top Internet travel reservation sites and zero downtime IT facilities
  • Billion-dollar international IT, business process and core business outsourcing services
  • Complex VOIP, satellite, wireless and traditional telecommunications systems
  • Commercializing patents and other intellectual property with the development and licensing of multitiered e-commerce systems, marketing services and application development projects
  • Government contracts, mergers and acquisitions, JVs, alliances, investments and litigation/ADR
  • Analyzing FCC, IRS, DOD, SEC and state PUC regulatory requirements
  • Mr. Maier began his career as the engineer in charge of quality assurance teams that evaluating telecommunication, radio and voice systems across Europe. He then moved into the computer industry where he designed networks, installed software and configured applications while living in Denmark, Australia and Boston.

    While called-up for Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, he helped establish Iraq’s new judicial system by working directly with the Iraqi chief judge and numerous coalition attorneys to prosecute detainees through the newly created Central Criminal Court of Iraq. He also created a new capability being used by senior military and intelligence leaders in the global war on terrorism, was his task force’s senior IT manager, and managed a 150-person organization.
