Mr. Brill's practice focuses on representing corporations, developers and others with real property interests regarding acquisitions and dispositions of real property, leasing, construction and development work, and real estate and construction financing. He has extensive expertise in assisting companies with substantial real estate portfolios, with strategic business and real estate issues, with an emphasis on working with communications and other technology companies.

He is a past president of the Century City Bar Association, and has been active in the association in many capacities. Mr. Brill has also served as Trustee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and has lectured and written on real estate law.

Purchase and Sale

Mr. Brill has represented clients in a comprehensive range of complex acquisitions and dispositions for public utilities, other institutional clients, and investors, including acquisitions and dispositions of corporate headquarters for a Fortune 50 company. In connection with these transactions, he has handled issues respecting tax and financial considerations, public affairs, environmental contamination, seller financing, Subdivision Map Act compliance, options and tax-deferred exchanges.

Leasing

Mr. Brill has a broad range of experience in leasing work, including the representation of landlords and tenants in connection with the leasing of office, retail and industrial space. He has also worked exclusively with specialized leasing needs of telecommunications, entertainment and other institutional clients.

Telecommunications

Mr. Brill has extensive experience assisting telecommunications companies with real estate needs, including the negotiation and documentation of transactions in connection with a nationwide communications facility development project. His telecommunications practice also includes the acquisition, disposition, leasing and licensing of various telecommunications facilities, acquisitions of rights to infrastructure, land use and entitlement work, and collocation licenses.

Partnering

Mr. Brill regularly advises clients on partnering, including the development and structuring of joint ventures, partnerships, limited liability companies, and workouts.

Financing

Mr. Brill has represented borrowers and lenders in the negotiation of real estate and construction loans. He has experience in structuring workouts and non-conforming loans.
