Mr. Navarro is a partner in the firm's Labor and Employment Department. He represents large and small employers, from multinational companies to local start-ups. He also assists buyers and sellers on employment matters related to an array of corporate transactions.
- Employment Counseling
- Working with businesses to implement best practices to effectively comply with employment laws, respond to personnel situations and avoid litigation.
- Helping companies protect their investment in their employees and information and advising them on non-compete and trade secret issues.
- Counseling clients during corporate transactions, restructuring efforts and reductions in force.
- Advising employers regarding executive contracts and compensation; applicant screening and hiring issues; compensation and benefits matters; employee leave practices; employee terminations; and employment policies and procedures.
- Investigating work place issues related to a wide variety of legal and regulatory concerns.
- Employment and Business Litigation
- Mr. Navarro has extensive experience in all phases of employment and business litigation in both state and federal courts, including e-discovery, depositions, trials and appeals.
- He has defended and prosecuted non-competition agreement, trade secrets, employee raiding and unfair competition cases; defended employers in race, gender, age and disability lawsuits; represented companies in cases related to pay and benefit claims; prosecuted civil actions against disloyal officers and employees; and represented employers in FINRA arbitrations.
- Regulatory Work and Government Contractors
- A large part of Mr. Navarro's practice involves helping government contractors implement cost effective and practical programs that comply with affirmative action regulations and representing clients during compliance reviews by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.
- He also regularly represents employers in front of various other state and federal agencies, including the different divisions within the federal Department of Labor and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
