Mr. Greenberg is the managing partner of the firm's Chicago office. His practice focuses on business and commercial litigation, especially with reference to the liability of financial, accounting and other business professionals, internal corporate investigations, corporate governance issues, as well as insurance and reinsurance disputes.
He has conducted litigation and arbitration proceedings in a broad range of professional liability, business and commercial matters; has litigated insurance and reinsurance disputes, corporate defamation actions; and has handled employment discrimination and trade secrets litigation. He has also handled internal corporate investigations regarding claims of accounting and financial wrongdoing.
- Corporate/Securities Litigation - Mr. Greenberg has represented corporations and corporate officers and directors in the defense of securities fraud class actions and shareholder derivative cases, and has defended businesses and their executives in various business tort and contract matters. He has also represented corporations and their officials in connection with investigations by the SEC and other agencies and regulatory bodies such as the NASDAQ. In addition, Mr. Greenberg has represented boards of directors and audit committees in connection with internal corporate investigations and corporate governance issues.
- Accountants' Liability - For more than 20 years, he has represented Big 4 and other major accounting firms in malpractice, securities fraud, RICO, tax and other significant commercial cases. He has also assisted those firms in connection with SEC investigations, grand jury proceedings and administrative proceedings involving other federal and state regulatory agencies.
- Professional Liability - His practice has also included the representation of attorneys, insurance brokers and other business professionals in securities litigation, malpractice, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and similar types of cases.
- Municipal Litigation - Mr. Greenberg's practice includes the representation of governmental units in matters involving accounting and tax issues, particularly in the tax increment financing legislation area.
- Discrimination Cases - On behalf of corporations and professional service firms, he has litigated cases involving alleged race, age and sex discrimination in federal and state courts, as well as before relevant administrative agencies.
- Insurance & Reinsurance - He has extensive experience representing Lloyd's of London, U.S. and foreign insurers and reinsurers in connection with coverage afforded to the largest worldwide accounting and other professional service firms. He has also handled insurance and reinsurance matters for large corporations and their directors and officers. This practice has included litigation in federal and state courts, and arbitration proceedings. He has also been involved in various proceedings concerning the liquidation of insurers by state authorities.
