Mr. Simmons focuses on commercial real estate and commercial lending. He has represented clients in all facets of commercial real property development and finance, from formation of ownership entities through project planning, land acquisition, loan negotiation, leasing, management, sale, workout and foreclosure.
- Leading the firm's team representing a publicly traded media and entertainment company as one of the client's three nationwide providers of real estate legal services, including purchasing land and facilities, leasing both existing premises and build-to-suit projects, and administering a corporate real estate portfolio of more than 2,500 properties.
- Representing a real estate loan investor and servicer in loan management, forbearance, restructure, workout and foreclosure.
- Representing a private real estate investment fund in the purchase, leasing, financing and administration of 17 industrial properties in 10 states, having an aggregate purchase price of more than $122,000,000.
- Representing an international bank in the negotiation of the bank's lease for its 130,000-square-foot U.S. headquarters in a mixed-use high-rise in downtown Raleigh.
