Mr. Gold is chair of McGuireWoods' firmwide, cross-departmental technology and outsourcing practice with 25 years of experience as a technology and outsourcing lawyer.
His experience includes a wide range of technology-related matters including structuring, negotiating, and advising on information technology and business process outsourcings; traditional software transactions such as commercial and strategic software licensing; large-scale systems procurement and development; and technology marketing and strategic alliances. He also counsels clients regarding evolving "software as a service" business models, electronic publishing, Internet commerce, open source software, and data security and intellectual property matters relating to software and information content.
In addition to his work in the technology and outsourcing field, Mr. Gold has broad experience in corporate and business law, having represented public and private companies ranging from large Fortune 500 companies to smaller entrepreneurial entities, particularly in the software and technology fields. His experience includes work in public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Mr. Gold has academic background and work experience in the field of computer science and systems analysis prior to law school.
He was highlighted in the 2010 edition of the Legal 500 directory for media, technology and telecoms (technology: transactions).
