Mr. Ongena's practice focuses on real estate and construction, distribution law and retail, complex contractual liability litigation and aviation law. His real estate and construction practice includes representing private undertakings and governmental agencies, with a particular experience in the divesture of governmental real estate holdings and the related ESA 95 implications thereof.
He regularly assists foreign manufacturers and retailers entering the Belgian market, either by opening retail outlets or by appointing agents, franchisees or distributors. Likewise, typical work includes restructuring or terminating a retail network or an individual agency, franchise or distribution.
In addition to real estate and distribution law, he focuses on a variety of industry sectors such as the car component industry, food industry, pharmaceuticals, and the professional service industry. He also has substantial experience in airport related activities including ground handling.
