Mr. Farrell has handled complex commercial cases and class actions for more than 25 years. He has substantial experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in construction disputes; securities cases; oil and gas, and real estate disputes; insurance coverage cases; ERISA cases; and a variety of breach-of-contract, fraud, and tortious-interference matters. His clients have included individuals, major corporations, closely held businesses, governmental agencies, and foreign sovereigns. He also devotes a substantial portion of his practice to appellate matters. He has argued cases in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th and 9th Circuits, the Texas Supreme Court, and several courts of appeals throughout Texas.

- Represented hundreds of investors who purchased unregistered securities in a settlement against two major brokerage firms.
- Obtained summary judgment for a general contractor in a construction case alleging years of delay and delay damages.
- Coordinated as lead counsel the defense of a real estate developer in a number of cases in multiple jurisdictions brought by disgruntled investors.
- Obtained a favorable settlement for a major financial services firm in a shareholder oppression case.
- Obtained a favorable arbitration award for a Fortune 100 company in a dispute over the allocation of product under a long-term supply contract.
- Obtaining a favorable arbitration award for a major chemical company in a dispute over the termination of a long-term supply contract.
- Obtained the dismissal for lack of jurisdiction of a case against two companies owned by a foreign sovereign.
- Represented a large healthcare provider in a series of lawsuits around the country involving the attempt by several insurance companies to rescind insurance coverage.
- Defended attempts to impose on a Russian oil company an arbitration award against an affiliated company.
- Represented a drilling company in a dispute over the long-term lease of a manufacturing facility.
- Represented a real estate developer in a dispute over allegedly undisclosed construction defects.
