Mr. Strickland has experience in international financial and corporate transactions of various types. He has represented the buyer and seller in mergers and acquisitions; and has served as lender's counsel, underwriter's counsel, issuer's counsel, and borrower's counsel in numerous debt financings. He is the former managing partner of McGuireWoods LLP.

He has experience in the financing of infrastructure projects such as roads, airports, ports, and utilities through various structures, including public/private partnerships. He also has served as bond counsel in a number of tax-exempt bond issues, including general obligation and revenue bond issues, industrial development bond issues and tax-exempt leases. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Virginia Bond Club, the Virginia Government Finance Officers Association, the Tax Exempt Finance Committee of the Section of Taxation of the American Bar Association, and the Virginia Local Government Attorneys Association.
