Mr. Van der Mersch advises clients on virtually all business matters affected by Belgian law, including corporate law, employment law, real estate, commercial transactions, financings, life sciences, mergers and acquisitions, securities and take-overs of Belgian companies, and general advice regarding the impact of Belgian law on multinational transactions.
He obtained his law degrees from the Université Catholique de Louvain, and Duke University School of Law. From 1985 to 1992, he practiced with the New York and Brussels offices of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. He is a member of the Brussels and New York Bars.
