Ms. Harmon is an experienced litigator at the trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts nationwide. She has an active practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the New York state courts. She has litigated matters in district courts throughout the country.


Representative Matters
  • Representation of energy companies, utilities and oil and gas works related to landfill gas purification plant, power plant development, power plant operating agreements, disputes with co-owners, fuel and coal purchase agreements, legal problems concerning RFPs for sale of power plants and purchase of power, and buyouts of power sales agreements. Extensive familiarity with financial analysis in connection with damage calculations. Experience includes both litigation and arbitration. Development of litigation strategies to implement major business goals.
  • Lead national and trial counsel for Fortune 500 company directing nationwide mass tort asbestos and silica litigation. Related litigation/arbitration concerning indemnification issues. Development and implementation of cutting edge strategies as to mass tort liability.
  • Complex contract litigation relating to financial service agreements, the development of computer systems, pharmaceutical and high technology products, and long-term service and supply agreements.
  • Securities litigation, including cases involving extensive preliminary injunction proceedings. Major jury trial on proxy fraud and misuse of corporate funds.
  • Antitrust litigation includes representation of corporations and foreign individuals in connection with a criminal antitrust investigation and related litigation and advice to utilities in connection with deregulation and competition issues.
  • Disputes concerning joint development/partnership agreements relating to pharmaceutical, telecommunication and computer transactions and real estate owners; disputes concerning the obligations between partners, including accountings and restructurings.
  • Representation of banks, developers and owners in connection with partnership disputes involving financing arrangements, restructuring, and breach of contract claims.
  • Extensive bankruptcy experience.
