Mr. Dimitri represents clients on a wide range of public utility, energy and telecommunication issues, including federal and state regulation of electric, gas and telecommunications matters. Prior to joining McGuireWoods, he served as general counsel of the State Corporation Commission of Virginia, which regulates electric, gas and telecommunications, as well as insurance, state-chartered banks and other financial institutions, securities, public service taxation and other matters.
He has appeared before the State Corporation Commission, the Supreme Court of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He previously practiced utility and other administrative law as an assistant attorney general in the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, and as a partner in a private law firm. He has extensive experience in legislative matters in the Virginia General Assembly.
