With more than 20 years of legal administration experience, Mr. Negus joined McGuireWoods from the North Carolina-based firm Helms Mulliss & Wicker, PLLC, where he served as executive director for 12 years. McGuireWoods and Helms Mulliss merged on April 1, 2008. He made significant contributions to Helms Mulliss’ operational effectiveness, while directing all business functions including finance, operations, information systems, human resources, marketing, and recruiting.

For McGuireWoods, he is responsible for all firm accounting and finance functions including general accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, tax, treasury, risk management, internal audit and records management. He works closely with the firm’s Finance Committee and executive management to assess and implement major revenue and cost-saving initiatives.

Mr. Negus earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University, and his master’s degree in business administration from San Francisco State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
