Mike has valuable experience working through a range of planning and development processes and working with various stakeholders in multiple jurisdictions. As a planner with Fairfax County’s Department of Planning and Zoning for over four years, he reviewed development applications including rezonings, special exceptions, and special permits.

In addition, Mike specializes in long-range, comprehensive planning through his experience with numerous planning studies and Comprehensive Plan amendments. His tenure with Fairfax County also provided him with robust expertise in environmental review, development quantification, zoning interpretations, and proffer compliance. As the Planning Manager with a Washington D.C. business improvement district (BID), Mike represented the interests of property owners by serving as a liaison between the neighborhood’s private stakeholders and District agencies. In managing a variety of public realm projects for the BID, Mike gained unique perspectives regarding low-impact development, curbside management, and streetscape initiatives.

Mike supports clients through all stages of the development process, including due-diligence, entitlement processes, and post-entitlement activities. He maintains vital relationships with public sector personnel, political leaders, and community stakeholders. As a native of Northern Virginia, Mike possesses a deep understanding of the area’s geography and market trends, and uses his knowledge of the local fabric as a foundation when assisting clients.
