Sustainable Utilities

The world of utilities is changing rapidly, through regulation and the need for better resource utilization. We help localities and developers create innovative, sometimes complex systems to address emerging issues.

We help localities integrate storm water fees and private flexibility in storm water design as well as examine opportunities for more sustainable water, waste water and power systems. We are equipped to advise clients on implementation of smart meter technology and opportunities to sell back to the grid. We assist our private clients as they look for new opportunities to provide private service to generate alternative energy, install efficiency enabling technologies, or harvest rain water or reuse water. Significant legal issues come up as we address neighborhood stormwater storage challenges, innovative transportation solutions, and the integration of green infrastructure.
