The July 20 article titled “Why Amy Schumer didn’t need Lucasfilm's permission to have sex with C-3PO and R2D2” discusses a GQ magazine spread featuring explicit photos of comedian Amy Schumer with characters from a well-known and, some might say, family-friendly movie. McGuireWoods partner Brad Newberg, who was quoted extensively in the article, explains the circumstances under which a parody of a work is considered fair use of that work under U.S. copyright law.
