McGuireWoods Consulting’s Michael Drobac, a senior advisor for federal public affairs, and McGuireWoods Washington partner Russ Sullivan were named on Nov. 2 toThe Hill’s “Top Lobbyists 2017: Hired Guns” list of elite practitioners in Washington, D.C.
They share billing on the list with 131 others from 79 D.C.-based lobbying firms who go before Congress and government agencies to represent clients who include former U.S. House and Senate members, former governors and former senior White House advisors.
“As the longtime staff director for the Senate Finance Committee, Sullivan knows tax policy inside and out,” The Hill observed. He led the committee staff for nine years under then-Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont. In 2013, Sullivan joined McGuireWoods Consulting as a senior advisor and the McGuireWoods law firm as a partner.
Drobac “is an expert on all things tech,” the newspaper wrote. He left Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in June to join McGuireWoods Consulting as a senior advisor working with a group of Washington’s most respected technology lobbyists. He heads the public affairs firm’s Emerging Technologies Group and is among D.C.’s most authoritative voices promoting growth in technology, particularly the unmanned aerial vehicle industry.
