Law360 published a Dec. 14 article profiling partner Emily Gordy, who recently joined McGuireWoods’ commercial litigation practice in Washington, D.C.
Gordy served as a senior executive with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and was chief regulatory counsel at the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer prior to her move to McGuireWoods. She told Law360 that her in-house and enforcement experience will help financial services clients interact with regulators and keep pace with regulatory requirements.
“It’s always difficult for firms to stay ahead of those requirements, and my varied background brings both the counseling piece to it as well as the enforcement piece,” Gordy told Law360.
Gordy’s arrival at McGuireWoods also has been noted by The Hill and The Washington Post.
More information about Gordy’s practice is available in a Dec. 13 firm announcement.
