Andrew Trask Discusses Class Action Reform in The National Law Journal

Senior counsel Andrew Trask, author of McGuireWoods’ Class Action Countermeasures blog, was featured in a Q&A with The National Law Journal discussing concerns over the Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act of 2017, which would impose new restrictions on plaintiffs.

While the proposed legislation aims to diminish abuses in class action and mass tort litigation, critics claim the bill presents unintended consequences for defendants and could invite more litigation. Trask, who testified on a similar bill by the same name in 2015, provides his insight on the potential pros and cons the bill poses for defendants.
