In Law360’s midyear energy report, Austin partner Becky Diffen commented on opportunities for utilities to expand their renewable energy portfolios, as solar and wind projects become more affordable to develop.
“Utilities are seeing a great opportunity to get these projects that are coming online in 2019 and 2020,” she said. “The utilities are seeing those great deals with competitive prices. They’re seeing opportunities to buy these projects and put them into their rate bases.”
