November 29, 2012

McGuireWoods LLP announced today that Naho Kobayashi, a partner in McGuireWoods’ Debt Finance group in Charlotte, has been recognized by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) as one of its 2012 “Best Lawyers Under 40.”

The annual list honors individuals within the Asian Pacific American (APA) legal community under the age of 40 who have achieved prominence in their respective areas of law and have demonstrated a dedication to the APA community. Fellow McGuireWoods Charlotte partner Raj Natarajan, who serves as co-chair of the firm’s life sciences industry group, received the award in 2010. The 2012 awards were presented at NAPABA's Anniversary Gala and Celebration Dinner in November. More information about the award may be found here.

Kobayashi is co-chair of the McGuireWoods Recruiting Committee and has served on an external committee providing advice to a major financial institution regarding its ongoing diversity initiatives. Focusing her practice on complex commercial and banking transactions, she primarily represents lenders and investors in debt financings and related equity investments.

NAPABA is the national association of APA attorneys, judges, law professors and law students, providing a national network for its members and affiliates. NAPABA advocates for the legal needs and interests of the APA community and represents the interests of more than 40,000 attorneys and 64 local APA bar associations, with practice settings ranging from solo practices to large firms, corporations, legal services organizations, nonprofit organizations, law schools and governmental agencies.
