Press Release

McGuireWoods Lawyers Secure ABA Antitrust Leadership Posts

July 8, 2015

Six lawyers from McGuireWoods’ Antitrust and Trade Regulation Department have been appointed to key leadership positions in the American Bar Association’s Section of Antitrust Law, the world’s leading professional organization for competition and consumer protection lawyers and government enforcers.

Amy Manning, Matthew Hall, J. Brent Justus, Angelo Russo and Sarah Zielinski join McGuireWoods partner Howard Feller, the outgoing Chair of the ABA’s Section of Antitrust Law who will serve as the Immediate Past Chair for the next year.

Based in Richmond, Virginia, Feller began his law career at McGuireWoods in 1978 and helped to build its growing Antitrust Department, which he now leads. His practice focuses on antitrust litigation, civil and criminal antitrust investigations, antitrust merger investigations and commercial litigation. He has worked with diverse industries and has deep experience conducting antitrust audits and antitrust compliance training. He has served in numerous capacities in the ABA’s Antitrust Section, including as the past Chair.

Manning, the managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Chicago office, will be the Co-Chair of Committee Operations for the Antitrust Section. She has extensive experience handling criminal and civil antitrust matters for international and U.S. companies, as well as individuals, in federal and state courts and arbitration tribunals throughout the United States. Her cases involve international cartels, price fixing, market allocation, bid rigging, tying arrangements, bundling, monopolization, attempted monopolization, Robinson-Patman Act claims, and antitrust conspiracies.

Four McGuireWoods lawyers have been appointed Vice Chairs of Section committees. Hall, a Brussels partner, will serve as Vice Chair of the Economics Committee; Richmond partner Justus will serve as Vice Chair of the Cartel and Criminal Practice Committee; Chicago partner Russo will serve as Vice Chair of the Business Torts and Civil RICO Committee; and Zielinski, a Chicago associate, will be Vice Chair of the Pricing Conduct Committee.

The Antitrust Section is universally respected for its high quality programs and publications and for its analysis and debate about competition and consumer protection law and policy. It has more than 7,660 members worldwide.
