Noreen Kelly-Dynega, Noted Financial Services and White-Collar Litigator, Takes Leadership of McGuireWoods’ New York Office

July 30, 2015

Noreen Kelly-Dynega, a top financial services and white-collar litigator for McGuireWoods, has been appointed the firm’s new office managing partner in charge of its New York City office.

Kelly-Dynega assumes her new duties on Aug. 1, succeeding Philip Goldstein, who has headed the New York office since 2008.

“I am honored that McGuireWoods entrusted me with this important leadership post, and while I am eager to get started, I know the enormous responsibilities that go with it,” Kelly-Dynega said. “Philip is a tough act for anyone to follow and set the bar high, but I am up for the challenge.”

McGuireWoods Managing Partner Tom Cabaniss, in announcing the leadership transition, said that having a deep pool of talented lawyers ready, willing and able to assume key leadership roles within the firm has been integral to McGuireWoods’ growth.

“The firm's ongoing success is, in no small part, attributable to outstanding lawyers such as those who have done such a fine job and those prepared to build on their many accomplishments,” he said. “We are deeply grateful to Philip for his excellent leadership as New York’s office managing partner. We also thank Noreen and know she will do an outstanding job.”

Kelly-Dynega advises financial institutions and other clients facing investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and state attorneys general. She has conducted internal investigations on behalf of audit committees and other entities to assess allegations of securities fraud, accounting fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations and embezzlement. She also has evaluated and designed anti-corruption compliance regimes for public companies, financial institutions and portfolio companies and has conducted anti-corruption training for executives and their employees.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in 1995 and her law degree from the New York University School of Law in 1998. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Women in Law Empowerment Forum.
