McGuireWoods Earns Top Cumulative Score in BTI Litigation Survey

September 21, 2015

McGuireWoods earned top honors in two litigation practice areas and was among the firms garnering the highest rankings in the 2016 edition of “BTI Litigation Outlook: Changes, Trends and Opportunities for Law Firms.”

McGuireWoods was recognized in all eight categories of the survey, doubling the number of rankings it earned in BTI’s 2015 survey. McGuireWoods and Jones Day were the only firms mentioned in all eight categories.

The annual report by Boston-based BTI Consulting Group is based on unprompted responses by the highest ranking legal decision makers at large organizations with revenue of $1 billion or more.

McGuireWoods was one of just three firms to earn the elite Powerhouse ranking for product liability litigation, and one of only six firms to achieve Powerhouse status for complex commercial litigation. BTI identified both litigation areas as prime growth opportunities for law firms in multiple industry sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.

The firm also was recognized as a Standout for class action and torts, routine commercial litigation, complex employment litigation, and routine employment litigation. In addition, McGuireWoods made BTI’s Honor Roll for securities and finance litigation and intellectual property litigation.

BTI’s rankings are based on 322 in-depth telephone interviews conducted between March 9 and Sept. 10. The leading legal decision-makers who participated in the survey represent more than 15 industry segments.
