Brussels office managing partner Hubert André-Dumont was reappointed senior vice chair of the Mining Law Committee of the International Bar Association. He will serve a two-year term that began Jan. 1, 2017, and ends Dec. 31, 2018.
André-Dumont has served as an officer on the committee since 2009, most recently during his first term as senior vice chair. Before that, he was vice chair from 2013 to 2014, committee treasurer from 2011 to 2012 and newsletter editor from 2009 to 2010.
The Mining Law Committee seeks to promote the interchange of information and views and to advance knowledge among individual members of the committee and others as to laws, practices and procedures affecting all activities concerning minerals and mining throughout the world.
André-Dumont practices commercial law, company law, and real estate and construction law, with a focus on mining (including extensive experience on francophone Africa), real estate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. He has written extensively on international business and mining law issues, especially Congolese mining and corporate law issues, and on international construction matters.
