McGuireWoods’ Energy Team Highly Ranked in Chambers and Partners’ Global Guide

Five Partners Also Earn Recognition Based on Client Feedback

February 20, 2018

McGuireWoods earned recognition for its U.S. energy regulatory and enforcement work in Chambers and Partners’ 2018 Global Guide, the authoritative annual rankings based on clients’ feedback. Five partners attained individual rankings in the guide.

For the second year in a row, McGuireWoods was ranked in the “Energy: Electricity (Regulatory & Litigation)” category for the United States. Washington, D.C., partners Todd Mullins and Noel Symons earned individual rankings and high praise from clients.

Mullins, managing partner of the Washington office, handles high-stakes matters for energy industry clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and is a former branch chief at FERC’s Office of Enforcement Division of Investigation. “He is a star! A great enforcements and investigations guy,” one client said.

Symons represents electric utilities and other energy companies before FERC and appellate courts and advises on cross-jurisdictional matters involving other regulatory bodies. One client called Symons “very creative, smart and tenacious” and another said “he distinguishes himself in his ability to write very clear and compelling briefs on very technical issues.”

Washington partner Steven Adkins (International Trade: Intellectual Property [Section 337], USA) and Chicago partner Timothy P. Callahan (Projects, USA) also were ranked. Additionally, Chambers recognized Brussels partner Hubert Andre-Dumont as a Belgium-based expert on the Democratic Republic of Congo.
