Our Firm

Diversity Awards and Recognition

McGuireWoods has enjoyed a long history of recognition for our commitment to diversity, including the Minority Corporate Counsel Thomas Sager Award. Our firm has also been a trail blazer in diversity, and our firm was the inaugural recipient of International Paper’s Lighthouse Award — an award presented to International Paper’s legal department supplier, who by example and leadership, distinguished itself in the area of diversity. The Metropolitan Business League, an association representing minority and small businesses, presented us with its Trailblazer Award for a joint venture that McGuireWoods initiated in 1977 with a minority-owned law firm, a venture which continues today, more than 35 years later.
