– Ranked among an elite group of law firms that are “absolutely best” at developing and implementing alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) for their
corporate clients. In the report, only 22 of 650 law firms serving Fortune 1000 and large clients were identified as the “best at making AFAs the
successful cost control tool they were intended to be — bringing improved client focus, predictability in budgets, a more streamlined approach to the work,
and double-digit savings.”
BTI Consulting Group “Client Service A-Team,” 2016 – Ranked for
the 10th time among BTI’s “Client Service 30” list of law firms serving Fortune
1000 companies. In the report, McGuireWoods jumped to No. 6 on the list and is
recognized among the "Leaders of the Best" in all four areas that general
counsel have singled out as most important when it comes to differentiating a
firm from its competitors: “Commitment to Help,” “Client Focus,” “Understands
the Client's Business” and “Provides Value for the Dollar.”
Chambers Global, 2016
– McGuireWoods was recognized as a global leader in international trade law in Chambers and Partners’ 2016 Global Guide. In its summary of the firm’s
overall international trade work, Chambers editors cited McGuireWoods’ “highly skilled anti-dumping and anti-subsidy practice” and praised its experience
in customs law and sanctions. They took particular note of lawyers’ experience in advising clients across Asia.
Chambers USA, 2016 – Recognized McGuireWoods’ lawyers 89 times and practice areas 27 times in its 2016 guide, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. The firm’s Wealth Management group received a Band 1 nationwide ranking for the eighth time, and the firm received nationwide practice rankings for Energy: Electricity (Regulatory & Litigation); Food & Beverages: Regulatory & Litigation; and Products Liability & Mass Torts.
Legal 500 Europe, 2016
– In the Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa 2016 guide, McGuireWoods earned Tier 1 rankings for its work in the manufacturing and retail sectors. The firm was also ranked among the top law firms in the information technology and telecommunications sector (Tier 3) and in three practice areas: real estate and construction (Tier 3); customs, trade, WTO and anti-dumping law (Tier 3); and commercial, corporate, and mergers and acquisitions law (Tier 5). would recommend to peers without prompting. The firm also was listed among the

– Ranked for the fifth consecutive year as one of the most recommended law firms serving Fortune 1000 companies. The report, which is based on unprompted responses by in-house legal decision makers, recognizes an elite group of law firms that corporate counsel are willing to recommend to their peers as superior service providers. McGuireWoods is among 25 firms that have earned this recognition five years in a row.
Chambers UK, 2015 – Six McGuireWoods’ London-based lawyers and the firm’s Litigation practice were recognized in the 2015 edition of Chambers UK. The lawyers were ranked in a range of practice areas, including employment, financial crime, litigation, real estate and restructuring and insolvency.
Corporate Counsel Magazine’s “Who Represents America’s Biggest Companies,” 2015
– McGuireWoods ranked among the top four law firms nationwide representing Fortune 500 companies in Corporate Counsel
magazine’s annual survey of
"Who Represents America’s Biggest Companies,” and topped the list of firms companies turned to for torts litigation matters in the past year. The firm
ranked fifth for labor and employment litigation, seventh for both labor litigation and securities litigation, and 15th for contracts litigation. Those
rankings helped the firm surge to fourth position on the overall chart, up eight places from last year. The firm also ranked second among
full-service law firms, with the top two spots held by firms that focus primarily on labor and employment work.

— One of only
two firms recognized in all eight practice categories in the 2016 edition of
“BTI Litigation Outlook: Changes, Trends and Opportunities for Law Firms,” based
on feedback from corporate counsel. McGuireWoods earned the elite “Powerhouse”
ranking for product liability litigation and complex commercial litigation. The
firm also was recognized as a “Standout” for class action and torts, routine
commercial litigation, complex employment litigation, and routine employment
litigation, and made BTI’s “Honor Roll” for securities and finance litigation
and intellectual property litigation.
M&A Advisor, “Telecom Deal of the Year,” 2016 — M&A Advisor named
the retail partnership between Sprint and RadioShack as the “Telecom Deal of the
Year” in the annual M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards, which recognize top
distressed investment and restructuring deals and the firms involved in closing
the transactions. McGuireWoods advised its longtime client Sprint in completing
the deal, which more than doubled Sprint’s company-owned retail footprint and
expanded its ability to reach customers from coast to coast.
The Bond Buyer, 2016
– Ranked the No. 6 bond counsel firm in the Southeast ($2.5 billion total sales volume) and No. 1 in Virginia ($2.4 billion total sales volume) according to The Bond Buyer.

American Health Lawyers Association, 2015
– Ranked No. 8 on the American Health Lawyers Association’s annual “Top Ten” list – published in the June 2015 issue of Modern Healthcare – recognizing law firms, organizations, government agencies, health plans and consulting firms that encourage and sustain member participation in AHLA. – McGuireWoods received the first place “Marketing on a Shoestring” Legal Marketing Association award in recognition of our private equity team’s

Thomson Reuters Loan Pricing Corporation, 2015
– Topping Thomson Reuters’ rankings for syndicated debt financings, McGuireWoods placed No. 1 in deal count and ranked sixth in dollar volume in Thomson
Reuters Loan Pricing Corp.’s year-end 2015 U.S. Lender Law Firm League Table for the firm’s representation of lead arrangers and bookrunners in syndicated
debt financings. The firm recorded 161 deals valued at $112.8 billion for the year. This marks the fifth consecutive year that McGuireWoods has ranked
among the top 10 U.S. law firms in the league tables.
Law360, 2014 – McGuireWoods’ Government Investigations and White Collar Litigation practice was named a white collar “Practice Group of the
