Alex's practice focuses on financial services litigation as well as state and federal financial regulatory matters and investigations.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Alex was a Senior Attorney with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s (OCC) Enforcement and Compliance Division in Washington D.C., where he led and assisted investigations at national banks and federal savings associations. He represented the OCC in a litigated enforcement hearing before an administrative law judge, took several depositions and sworn statements, and regularly advised OCC examiners on legal matters. During that time, Alex received the Comptroller’s Shared Purpose Award.
Prior to his work at the OCC, Alex worked in private practice in Washington, D.C representing clients in the financial services industry.
In law school, Alex was an Articles and Notes Editor for the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal and was the President of the Hispanic/Latino Law Students Association. Prior to law school, Alex worked in risk management at a national bank in Charlotte, N.C.
