Kristin M. Athens Associate

Kristin focuses her practice on representing electric and natural gas clients in complex regulatory proceedings before the North Carolina Utilities Commission and other regulatory agencies.

Before joining McguireWoods, Kristin received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law. During law school, Kristin served as a staff member on the First Amendment Law Review and oralist on the Environmental Appellate Advocacy Team. While serving on the Environmental Appellate Advocacy team, Kristin was awarded Runner-Up Best Brief at the 2016 WVU Energy and Sustainability Moot Court Competition. Additionally, during law school, Kristin externed for Justice Sam J. Ervin IV of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
