Vassilis is a partner at our Brussels office and heads up the firm's European international trade practice. He focuses on international trade and WTO law, public procurement, EU Competition law including State Aid, EU internal market issues and litigation before national courts, the European Union Courts in Luxembourg and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

Vassilis has gained considerable experience over the last 20 years in the field of EU law and in particular anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard investigations, in customs matters, export controls and in advising Governments and private parties on WTO law and practice. His clients include private parties, professional associations and governments located in the EU, India, China, Brazil, Thailand, Taiwan, Croatia, Russia, Ukraine, Korea, Turkey, UAE, and the U.S. He is familiar with the administrative practices and trade defence laws in several jurisdictions, including the EU, Russia/Customs Union, Brazil and Turkey. Vassilis also works in the field of EU competition law and in issues related to the functioning of the EU internal market. He is an experienced litigator and a regular writer and speaker in related topics.

He is the president of the Belgian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce since 2008.

Vassilis is recognized as a leading expert in trade law.

In the 2017 chambers global guide for Belgium and Europe-wide Vassilis heads the team that is ranked within International Trade/WTO.

Advising the Government of the Russian Federation on WTO accession.

Advising the Government of South Korea on WTO issues and dispute settlement.

Representing several Indian, Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, Russian, Ukrainian, and Korean exporters in more than 100 trade defense investigations initiated by the EU, Russia, Brazil and Turkey.

Advised Indian and UAE producers on an OLAF investigation on circumvention of anti-dumping duties on imports of steel wire ropes originating in India and in the UAE.
