Matt manages the firm's conflicts clearinghouse, which identifies and helps resolve conflict of interest issues related to new matters, and new lawyer and non-lawyer personnel. He also works with the deputy general counsel on other ethics and firm administration issues, including lawyer advertising, data security, and internal compliance procedures.

As an undergraduate, Matt was a Jefferson Scholar, Echols Scholar and recipient of the Henry Noble Taylor Memorial Award at the University of Virginia. He also was a member of the Golden Key Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta.
