Brandon J. Cole Attorney

Brandon is experienced in financial services litigation and complex commercial litigation. His practice focuses exclusively on providing our firm’s clients with exceptional representation during the e-Discovery phase of litigation across a variety of industries.

As in-house counsel prior to joining McGuireWoods, Brandon appreciates the unique needs of his corporate clients.  Brandon leverages this insight to deliver focused, flexible, and efficient representation. Brandon has completed training to become a kCura Certified Relativity Administrator.

Brandon has experience consulting with executive leadership, making arguments before courts, spearheading complex motion practice, and managing large teams of attorneys.  This breadth of experience enables him to provide a nuanced perspective to the multifaceted challenges that inevitably emerge during complex litigation.

Brandon graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill after attending College of Charleston for his undergraduate studies and the Citadel for his master’s degree. During his tenure at the North Carolina School of Law, he was an executive member of the selective Broun National Trial Team and mentor to aspiring trial lawyers.

Brandon previously served as summer clerk to Hon. James Wynn, Jr. of the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and contributed to decisions that were favorably reviewed by the Supreme Court of the United States.

Representation of leading financial institutions involving counterclaims to foreclosure proceedings in both state and federal law, including complex motions practice to defend against corollary state and federal common law and statutory claims.

In-house representation of companies on a diverse array of legal issues: litigation, settlement negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, mediation, pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, contract negotiation and dispute resolution, with emphasis on advising companies on strategies to identify and execute successful risk reduction policies.
