Clem concentrates his practice on defending corporations in toxic tort and product liability litigation, including cases involving asbestos, mold and other toxic substances. His diverse trial experience includes defending manufacturers, ship owners, component suppliers and sellers in matters of negligence, product liability, warranty, toxic exposure and punitive damage actions. He was lead counsel for an oil refinery in numerous cases alleging ground water contamination due to MTBE. Additionally, Clem has represented multiple energy companies in personal injury litigation and commercial litigation.

Clem’s community involvement includes participation in the Westover Hills Elementary School Reading Program for minority students and serving on the Scholarship Selection Committee for the Virginia Tech Honors College. Clem is a member of the Ut Prosim Society, Virginia Tech.
