Phillip focuses on business litigation, business torts, contractual disputes, and employment law. He practices in courts throughout the country, and routinely litigates in the federal and state courts of the District of Columbia and Virginia, giving him an in-depth knowledge of the local rules, practices, and judges in those jurisdictions.

Phillip regularly represents financial institutions in single plaintiff and class action commercial and business disputes arising from federal and state consumer finance and banking statutes. He has broad experience handling contract actions and business torts related to fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, and unfair competition. He has also defended banks and their exercise of fiduciary powers under the National Bank Act.

His employment practice focuses on employment-related litigation defending employers in claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), other federal and state statutes, breach of contract claims, covenants not to compete, and tort claims, including wrongful discharge, defamation, conspiracy, and tortious interference claims.

While earning his law degree, Phillip was a writing fellow at George Mason University School of Law.
