Doug focuses his practice on business litigation, representing business clients in a variety of shareholder, banking, trust and estate, products liability, and commercial litigation matters. In October 2005, he was named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
An active leader in the community and bar, Doug lectures regularly on litigation and professional responsibility topics. Chambers and Partners' 2017 Chambers USA Client Guide describes Doug as an "Eminent Practitioner” in the Commercial Litigation category, and noted that “sources name him a ‘world-class lawyer.’” Doug became General Counsel of McGuireWoods in July 2013.
