Aleesha represents financial services clients in complex securities matters, focusing on regulatory enforcement actions and internal investigations.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Aleesha practiced as a litigation associate at a Vault 100 law firm in New York, where she represented financial institutions in complex regulatory investigations commenced by the Department of Justice and the Commodity Futures and Trading Commission.  Aleesha also has experience in representing private companies in internal investigations, particularly those that raise issues concerning the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

While in law school, Aleesha was an Honor’s Fellow in Cornell Law School’s Lawyering Program, where she assisted in teaching first-year students legal research and writing skills.  Aleesha was also President of Cornell Law School’s Black Law Students Association (2012-2013), and a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia (2012).
