George focuses his practice on bankruptcy and financial restructuring, including corporate bankruptcy proceedings, debtor-in-possession financing transactions, and out-of-court workouts.
Before joining McGuireWoods, George served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Celeste F. Bremer in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa and as a law clerk to the Honorable Gregory L. Taddonio in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
At The University of Iowa College of Law, George served as articles editor for the Iowa Law Review and was awarded the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence for outstanding performance in bankruptcy law as well as the Boyd Service Award for his pro bono work. He also received awards for the highest grades in Complex Litigation, Foundations of International Law, and Terrorism, I.S.I.S., and International Criminal Law.
Prior to law school, George worked for a rare book dealer in Los Angeles.
