Akiesha focuses her practice on product liability and commercial litigation matters, which spans the scope of counseling clients on business-related needs to representation of clients in federal and state courts. Specifically, Akiesha has defended retailers and manufacturers in consumer products actions, and has experience representing financial institutions in consumer claims under various state and federal statutes, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Her experience includes drafting and responding to substantive and procedural motions, preparing and deposing witnesses, representation of clients in arbitration and strategic counseling to clients for matters affecting nationwide litigation. Akiesha also serves as national coordinating counsel for a major transportation company and is a member of the firm's Appeals and Issues practice team.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Akiesha clerked for Judge D. Michael Fisher of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. While in law school, Akiesha interned for Judge David S. Cercone of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, served as Senior Topics Editor for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and represented immigrants seeking asylum and facing removal from the United States as a Certified Legal Intern in the Immigration Law Clinic.

Akiesha is active in the Allegheny County Bar Association, serves as a member of the Young Friends Committee for the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and is a mentor in the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity Success in Law School Mentoring Program. Akiesha also actively participates in firm pro bono and community service efforts.
