Charles is an experienced business and securities litigator who has represented clients in complex commercial disputes as well as insurance coverage, product liability and employment matters for more than 20 years. Charles also has significant experience in the energy sector, handling energy-related litigation around the country.

He has considerable courtroom and arbitration experience representing clients as both plaintiffs and defendants, achieving impressive results on both sides. Acting as co-counsel in an arbitration matter regarding a royalty dispute for a large publicly-traded oil and gas company, he was able to secure a substantial victory for his client. As lead counsel for a series of arbitrations for a large health care management company Charles obtained multimillion dollar verdicts in favor of his client as a plaintiff and dismissals or favorable settlements in their capacity of a defendant. His litigation prowess is evidenced through his success in these and countless other matters.

Prior to law school, Charles worked as an investment banking and commercial financial analyst with two large commercial banks. This prior real world experience has given Charles a distinct advantage in his ability to quickly understand and effectively prosecute or defend complex business disputes.

Dana Ricky McNair and Mary McNair v. Encana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc.; CA 6:14-cv-00330; United States District Court for the Western District of Texas Waco Division. Lead counsel defending client in contract dispute involving salt water disposal well. Favorably settled with payments made to defendant client following motion practice.

AAA Arbitration Proceeding before three member panel in Houston, Texas. Co-lead counsel representing owner of underground gas storage facility in Wyoming prosecuting claims against EPC contractor for defective construction and design of the facility. Panel awarded high seven-figure judgment plus attorney fees on client's claims following two-week arbitration hearing.

Continental Airlines, Inc. v. ExpressJet Holding, Inc. ; AAA Arbitration; Harris County, Texas. Second chair representing regional airline in multi-million dollar dispute involving service contract. Favorable ruling following two-week arbitration proceeding.

PSI Net Consulting Solutions Holdings, Inc. et al. v. PSI Net, Inc., et al.; Cause No. 02-09077; United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Co-lead counsel representing unsecured creditors committee in hundred-million dollar adversary proceeding involving intercompany transfers. Settled favorably following three-month bench trial.

Constellation Energy Partners, et al. v. Wilmington Trust Company, as Trustee for Torch Energy Royalty Trust, et al. ; Arbitration Proceeding Before JAM Reference No. 1310017310. Lead counsel representing client in royalty dispute involving oil and gas wells in Alabama. Panel ruled for client following three-week arbitration proceeding.

In re Spansion Inc.; Cause No. 09-10690; United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Co-lead counsel prosecuting valuation trial on behalf of unsecured creditors group. Trial resulted in significant increase to company valuation at emergence from bankruptcy.

South Texas Medical Clinics P.A. v. Maryland Casualty Company, et al.; Cause No. 36387; 23rd Judicial District, Wharton County, Texas. Lead counsel prosecuting insurance coverage claims on behalf of client. Obtained six-figure verdict and recovery for client following trial and appeal.

In re Semcrude, L.P., et al.; Cause No. 08-11525; United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Lead litigation counsel representing an unsecured creditors' committee in various adversary proceedings. Matters resolved favorably in connection with plan confirmation.

Leslie F. Jennings et al. v. Blue City Holdings LLC, et al.; Cause No. 06-CI-00507; 408th Judicial District, Bexar County, Texas. Lead counsel representing interests of Fortune 500 company defending attempt to seize 767 aircraft in connection with contract dispute. Defeated injunctive action and prevented seizure of the aircraft.

In re Dynergy Holding, LLC ; Cause No. 11-38111; United States Bankruptcy Court for Southern District of New York. Co-lead counsel representing an unsecured creditors group in bankruptcy proceeding. Settled favorably in connection with plan confirmation.

In re Mirant, et al.; Cause No. 03-46590-DML-11; United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. Lead litigation counsel representing unsecured creditors' committee in valuation trial. Settled favorably following two-month bench trial.

Voorhees Equipment and Consulting v. Miller Energy Resources , Inc.; AAA Arbitration; Houston, Texas. Lead counsel representing client in connection with million dollar contract dispute involving building contract. Settled favorably on the eve of the arbitration hearing.

Trust Venture Company, LLC v. Constellation Energy Partners LLC ; Cause No. CV-2008-900751; Circuit Court of Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. Lead counsel representing client in multi-million dollar contract dispute involving oil and gas wells in Alabama. Matter settled favorably for client on eve of trial.

Wilmington Trust Company, as Trustee for Torch Energy Royalty Trust, et al., v. Torch Royalty Company , Torch E&P Company and Constellation Energy Partners LLC; Cause No. 2008-61886; 152nd Judicial District Harris County Texas. Lead counsel defending challenge to arbitration award previously obtained for client. Award successfully upheld by district court and during subsequent appeal.

On trial team defending hundred-million dollar claim related to re-locating underwater pipelines in connection with Port of Houston expansion project. Obtained ruling in favor of client on appeal to the 5th Circuit.

On trial team defending professional negligence claims following Zale Corporation bankruptcy. Settled favorably following summary judgment proceedings.
